Essex Rescue is a licensed advanced life support (ALS) ambulance service that responds to over 1,500calls a year in Essex, Essex Junction, Underhill, Jericho and Westford Vermont. Our active roster consists of over seventy (70) volunteer members and a career staff of four (4) that have been trained at the Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B), EMT-Intermediate (EMT-I), or EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P) level allowing us to provide defibrillation, IV Therapy, advanced airway, and many other skills.
We also have a First Response system because of the large geographical area that we serve. Our first responders are Essex Rescue members that respond directly to the scene before the ambulance arrives. Our first responders carry the same equipment found on the ambulance. This allows them to deliver life saving care more quickly and efficiently.
Essex Rescue is a private non-profit 501c3 self-supported service and not a municipal agency.
Essex Rescue's Mission Statement: Essex Rescue is committed to being a leader in EMS and to providing our community with excellence in pre-hospital and out of hospital care. We strive for this by maintaining the highest standards of our profession; caring for our patients; their families and the community, and preventing illness and injury through public education.
